Questions concerning The Middle East? No military intervention without express authorization (not unconstitutional delegation of the war-making power) by Congress. The McCain/Obama excuse that we don’t have soldiers on the ground and that it is all over “quickly” doesn’t comport at all with the War Power Clause or the War Powers Resolution.
I’ve opposed the war in Afghanistan and have made it clear I would bring the troops home immediately. I’ve also made it clear publicly (including on Bill O’Reilly’s show) that our military threats against Iran are self-destructive and immoral. For years, I joined with others in getting signatures on a letter expressing solidarity with the Iranian people and opposition to threats to attack, or to support an attack against, Iran.
I’ve also stated in interviews that our support for Israel should lead to a two-state solution - and that strict human rights conditions should be enforced, with consequences. I’ve made clear my view that AIPAC’s control of Congress and the White House has been destructive to the Middle East, to the U.S., and to world peace generally.
